My friend Ella is 2

Avery went to her friend Ella's birthday party today and had a great time. She played with some of Ella's toys and took her first bounce on Ella's big trampoline.

Here she is after the party all wore out from having fun.

This picture is of Ella and Avery from a play date they had a few weeks ago.

Bubbles

Lately Avery has not been enjoying bath time and it has taken both Chris and I to keep her in the tub long enough to wash her. So I decided to try some bubble bath the other day and it worked like a charm.

Spaghetti

For dinner the other night we had spaghetti. Avery wasn't very impressed and most of hers ended up on her tray, hair and the floor. It was her first time eating it so I'm sure her opion will change. Her newest favorite foods to eat are broccoli, peaches and plums.

Playing in Her Dome

Avery still likes playing in her Discovery Dome, although she likes trying to stand in it or holding on to the outside while standing.

The Perfect Walker

Abby gave us a new toy that Avery is loving. It's a blue walker in the shape of a hippo that eats blocks and deposits them into it's belly.

Buffalo Trip

This weekend we went to Buffalo to visit some friends. Avery had a great time meeting some new people and I enjoyed showing her my home town.

Avery did a great job riding in the car. She likes to look out the window and when I read books to her.

Avery had great fun playing with the Abby, Noah and Nick. She played at their house and we went to Noah's school and played on the playground. Both of the boys did a great job playing with her, they loved giving her toys to play with and she loved all the new things to touch and put in her mouth.

Noah wanted a ride on the stroller with Avery.

Avery is getting really good at sleeping in hotels. Here she is playing on the bed before she went to sleep.

We took Avery to a neighborhood playground that I played at growing up called Garrison Park to play before we hit the road. Avery was fascinated with her daddy's bubble gum.

Rosie was very happy to see Chris when we got home. So happy that she wanted to sit on his lap.

Avery felt the same way about seeing Rosie and didn't want to leave her side.

Avery's First Laptop

Although Avery is still slightly under the weather she seemed to enjoy playing with one of Grandpa's old laptops. Before long she will be a computer-pro.

Poor Sick Avery

On Friday night after our family walk I noticed that Avery had a fever. Her temperature was 102.5 so on Saturday morning I took her to the doctors and found out that she had a virus. So this weekend we took it easy and tried to make Avery as comfortable as possible. All in all she was in good spirits considering she was sick.

She spent some time playing outside with her daddy and some bubbles which seemed to make her feel better.

She listened to some books which is one of her most favorite things to do.

Here Chris was playing with her when she took an interest in his mouth, she found the inside of his mouth to be fascinating. She couldn't resist a quick touch.

I think she sees a cavity (just kidding)

A Fun New Toy

Thanks to my dear friend Abby, Avery loves her new toy. You drop small plastic balls and watch them travel in different directions. It lights up and plays music. Avery loves playing with it!

What Grandparents Will Do

Grammie and Grandpa came over this afternoon for a visit. After an exhausting night at work and only a few hours of sleep Grammie thought she would get creative when feeding Avery her lunch. It worked!

Avery enjoyed playing with her grandparents very much!

Afternoon Nap

These are a few pictures I took after Avery woke up from her afternoon nap.
What a cute smile!

Avery likes to point at everything now. She normally walks around the house (with someones help) pointing in the direction she wants to go.

Avery tends to sleep on her stomach. She tucks her hands in close to her chest and sticks her butt up in the air. It's really rather funny. Here you can see her hand print from where she was sleeping on her arm.

Independent Eater

Avery has began feeding herself. I can put small pieces of food on her tray and she will pick them up with her fingers. She likes having a little food in both hands and then she takes turns shovels one hand after the other into her mouth. I would say only 70% actually makes it while the rest lands on the floor for the dog to eat later. It's fun to watch her but meals tend to take forever.

Walking!

Avery took her first steps yesterday, three full steps towards her mother. These were not falling forward steps, she was standing on her own and took three deliberate steps. It was very exciting.
