Young Reader

Avery likes to be read to and to 'read.' She often helps her mother by turning the pages.

Teef!

Avery's two front teeth finally broke through about two weeks ago, and have squared off now. They both appeared together. There were a few rough nights, but overall, she did very well. Still a few more teeth to go though, so our fingers are crossed.

Adventures in Eating

Avery likes to eat, and at times her enthusiasm gets the best of her.

Hello Grandpa!

Great granpa came to visit last week, and this time Avery opened her eyes and got to know him, and the contents of his pockets.

Birthday Surprise

For my birthday on Saturday Chris got me a pedicure and when I came home he and Avery had bought me a great big bouquet of flowers. They were sitting outside in the grass and Avery had a toy flower that her daddy had gotten for her and I to share. We spent the day together as a family. We went to Dillon State park and took a walk in the neighborhood before bed.

Nightly Ride

Now that the weather is nice Avery and I go for a walk to the local park every night. Some times Chris and Rosie join us and some times it is just the two of us.

The church around the corner from our house put in a playground last year with some baby swings. Avery really enjoys swinging in them.

Unrecognizable

On Sunday Chris shaved his beard off. Avery was a little stand-offish with him at first, he has had the beard since she was 2 months old. But before long they were having a grand old time playing together and watching the dog. This weekend she started to say Dada, not at anyone directly but she is definitely saying the sounds. It will only be a matter of time before she starts calling out for her Dada.

Zweiback

After checking out a friends blog (Joel and Lori Lord) who have a baby who is a week or so younger than Avery I got the idea to give Avery some Zweiback toast and here is what she thought of it...

at first she was curious

then she was happy

then she had to figure out what to do with it

and finally she enjoyed eating it.

She enjoyed it so much she became rather sad when we had to take it away :(
