My Kids In A Box

Avery had such a good time playing in a empty box of diapers today that she had to include her brother. She was so excited to hold him and get him involved in playing. She kept telling him that the box was a space ship that was taking them to the moon. Blast off!

Outfit

I just love this outfit that one of my students got for Jack. I think its the fact that you can see all of Jacks rolls that makes him so cute in it and the color with the little frog. Thanks Taylor for picking such a cute outfit.

Swings and Things

On Sunday we were enjoying the weather outside playing in the garden and Jack in his saucer. When I thought it would be fun to put Jack in the baby swing for the first time. Chris and I were trying to decided if her was really enjoying himself when he fell asleep. We let him sleep in the swing for a little while and then he finished his nap on his daddy.

Silly Avery

After Ella's birthday party on Saturday Avery was coming inside and came across a caterpillar. She was so excited when it crawled on her arm. She kept talking about how it will turn into a butterfly.

The girl loves flour... whenever we make something (we made zucchini bread the other day) she loves to take a heap of flour and eat it.

Jumperoo

Lately Jack loves to go into his Jumperoo, and once you put him in it he just starts to go crazy jumping.

Well the other day Avery went over to play with him while he was in it. (He loves when she plays with him and talks to him). She kept saying to him "0k Jack, take a deep breath and jump!" and then she would start to jump in front of him. He thought it was so funny, he just kept laughing at her. It must of lasted for 5-10 mins. I got it on video and will have Chris upload it later, it was really cute!

Carrot Time

Avery pulled her first carrot from the garden the other day. Chris and I wanted to see how long it was (about 5-6 inches). She was so excited to try it. It was good, but I think we will wait another week or so before we pull any more just to let them get a little longer.

A First At The Zoo

Last Saturday we decided to take the kids to the zoo since the weather was unseasonably cool. Jack got to see some goats for the first time and Avery got to ride a pony for the first time. Both of them were very excited!!!

Avery is getting ready to take pictures like her daddy

While Avery was busy brushing the goats I noticed that there wasn't a line at the pony ride so Jack and I went and got a ticket for Avery to ride, she was SO excited. Everyone who knows Avery knows she LOVES horses (she probable has over 20 little horses around the house) but she has never rode one before. She was a little nervous at first and wanted me to come along but the lady said that was fine. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time, it was really great!

After the pony ride Avery wanted to see the birds but got side tracked by the carousal which she had to ride twice.

Jack and I watched and waited.

After that we saw a few more animals then it started to rain, so we headed home. We always have so much fun at the zoo, I just wish it were a little closer.

Avery

This first picture is of a leek that we have been growing in our garden for the past two years. It started off so small and we finally pulled it to enjoy on a pizza we love to make. Avery loves to garden with daddy, her carrots should be ready soon!

This next picture is one that Chris took on one of their walks at the park downtown. I think it's funny.

Last, we have been letting Jack "cry it out" at night for the past two night so we had Avery sleepover at Grammie and Grandpa's house so the screaming would not wake her. The one night we were dropping her off and she was so persistent that she didn't need us to walk her in, she could do it herself. She grabbed the bag and the snack she brought to share with Grammie and headed up the stairs. She gave us our kisses and that was that, "see you tomorrow" she said.

For all those that are curious so far so good with the crying it out. Jack was waking up every half hour to every hour the past few weeks and last night he cried for maybe 5 mins and then sleep 6 hours. Woke up to eat and get his diaper changed and went back to sleep for another 5 hours. It was so nice not to be running up and down the stairs!

All Dressed Up

The other day I got the kids dressed and thought it would be nice to take a new group shot of the two if them. It's crazy how fast they grow and change.

I took Jack for his four month check-up last Thursday. He weighed in at 17 pound 10 oz. and 25 1/2 inches long. He has started to play with all kids of toys grabbing things and putting them in his mouth. He rolls over and spins on his belly 45 degrees. He laughs out loud and is always talking. He loves to watch Avery and when people talk to him. He loves to stand and can pull himself to standing with little help.

Camp Out

For the past month Avery has been talking about camping out and last weekend Chris and her camped out in the back yard. They had a great time. Avery had her own ideas of what should happen, like she had to have marshmallows and had to stay up to see the stars (which meant she was up to 10). They also got to see fireflies and bats flying around. I was surprised they made it all night, I kept thinking they would be back in their beds before midnight, but they stayed out all night in tent.

Sleepy Jack

The other day Jack was napping in his swing and he looked so cute that I had to take his picture which started to wake him. It was time for him to get up anyways so I just keep taking pictures.

Funny Story

Every day for lunch when I ask Avery what she wants to eat she always says a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. So I started joking with her that she was going to turn into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich if she kept eating them. She would just look at me and say "no I wont" and start to laugh. Well the other day after saying it to her she looked at me and said "Jack is going to turn into a boobie". I couldn't help but start laughing.

Cell Phone

Chris uploaded my cell phone photos that I've been taking since before Avery was born, it was fun to look back through them. Here are a few of my favorites in no real order...
