We went to the fair the other day and Avery had a blast, Jack didn't seem to mind it either. He liked looking at all the people and animals and she LOVED the animals and rides. She even lucked out, there was a little girl walking her horse when we were walking by and she let Avery pet the horse and sit on top of the horse. As you can imagine Avery was SO excited. She kept saying she wanted her own horse once she got off of her. As for the rides she loved riding with other kids and liked the Ladybug ride the best.

New Stuff
Here is a hodge-podge of new things we have been doing a our (my) summer ends.
The other morning I went to get Jack in his crib and found that he had rolled over to the monitor in his crib and was holding it in his hands. It looked to have given him a black eye (which is hard to see in the picture) not that he minded. He now can roll from him back to belly and ends up that way many times through the night, until he realizes and screams until someone comes in to help him. He loves to sleep on his side with his bear blanket clenched in his hand.
One of the recent 90 degree days we went up to the Dresden pool and took Jack swimming for the first time. He didn't mind being in the water liking us to hold him more than the float we had for him. But he didn't like all the kids splashing and yelling around him. He did pretty good for his first time I thought, but was excited to get out and watch from the side also. Avery on the other hand loved to jump into the water. She even thought she would try to go down the slide with daddy until she got to the top and then changed her mind.
Go RED SOX!!!
So I went into my classroom the other day with the family to get some things ready. Jack took and nap while I worked and Avery had a blast cutting, pasting, coloring, and playing with all the things in the room. She is crazy about using scissors now that we let her. She isn't to bad either better than some kids I've seen.

What The Kids Are Up To
Jack is getting much better at sitting up. He can stay up right for anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Most of the time he wants to be standing though. Even when you try and make him sit up he pushes his legs off the ground and leans back trying to stand.
Today I signed Avery up for Dance lessons. She will be going once a week through the school year. As soon as I told her she was so excited she had to put her tutu on and wore it for the remainder of the night. She would dance around the house doing her ballet steps and wearing her crown that I made her.
She even tried to dance with Jack but wouldn't take both of his hands because she said his hand was covered in spit-up (she meant to say drool!)
Here I am giving and getting a kiss from my kids. There is nothing better in the world then that.

Jack's Eating
We started Jack eating Rice Cereal last week since I will be going back to school soon and he still doesn't want to take a bottle (He just chews on it or cries). At first he wasn't so sure what I was giving him but as the days go by he is getting better and better at it. Avery was very excited though she was right there to see Jack's expression as I gave it to him and even had to take some pictures.
Tonight since I have some very ripe watermelon I thought we would let Jack have a taste, he seemed to like it trying to shove the holder back into his mouth and licking up the juice.
